Direct Application or Modeling Design-Cast 66

Immediately after mixing, you can apply the DC-66 to a prepared armature (which may be covered with steel or fiberglass mesh) or to an armature consisting of Styrofoam®. At this point you can trowel, brush, press, shape, tool, or texture the DC-66 to produce almost any desired effect.

While working with the material you can adjust its consistency in the mixing container, if you wish, by blending in some fresh dry mix, or a small amount of water, using a knife or spatula. The working time of mixed DC-66 is normally 2 to 4 hours, depending on temperature, humidity, and the amount of water in the mix. In dry or warm weather you should keep the working material damp, using a water mister (such as is used for house plants). In any case, when you leave the work for a while you should spray a water mist over the surface of the work, and/or cover it with a plastic sheet so as to prevent water from drying out prematurely.
