You can use either Sealer
AA-6 or AA-7 as a patina vehicle by mixing with dry pigments, universal
colorants, or certain artist's colors such as Liquitex®.
Suitable dry pigment types
- Iron oxides: reds, yellows, browns, blacks, earth-tones, and
terra cottas
- Cadmium sulfides and selenides: brilliant reds, oranges, and
yellows
- Chromium greens
- Titanium oxide white
- Colored oxides used in ceramic glazes
- Certain metallic powders or flakes: bronze, copper, and stainless
steel
Recommended procedure
- Clean and prepare the DESIGN-CAST surface as described above.
- Apply the pigmented sealer by brushing, spraying, or wiping
with a cloth, so as to obtain the desired effect.
- Allow the pigmented sealer coat to dry to the touch - typically
an hour.
- Spray or brush on a final protective coat of clear, unpigmented
sealer.
- Allow patina to dry several days to develop full hardness.
